Job Role: Cyber Security & Systems engineer
Background and experience
I’m a systems engineer and hands-on builder who works across infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and automation. I come from an MSP and managed-services background, and I focus on making IT environments reliable, secure, and easy to operate—whether that’s improving day-to-day support, tightening standards and compliance, or engineering scalable solutions that hold up in the real world.
What I like about my role
I love the mix of problem-solving and practical impact: taking messy, real-life technical challenges and turning them into clean, repeatable systems. I enjoy work that blends people and technology—reducing friction for users, increasing visibility for teams, and leaving things better documented and easier to maintain than I found them.
Key strength
My key strength is turning complex requirements into clear, dependable outcomes. I’m detail-driven, quick to iterate, and comfortable owning the full path from “this is painful” to “this is fixed properly”—with a focus on security, resilience, and sensible automation.
Outside of work
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me building side projects, experimenting with electronics and radio via my UK Amateur Radio License, or deep in world-building and storytelling for tabletop Dungeons & Dragons.
A bit more
I’m at my best when I can improve the foundations: strengthening security posture, simplifying operations, and building tools that make teams faster and calmer under pressure. I value clear communication, good documentation, and solutions that are robust enough to survive the real world—not just a demo.
