One connected business environment

Business communications and connectivity that work together

Stratiis brings hosted voice, Microsoft Teams Phone, business mobiles, broadband, leased lines, managed Wi-Fi and multi-site connectivity together with clear advice and one accountable support team.

What are business communications and connectivity services?

Business communications and connectivity services are the phone, collaboration, mobile, internet and network systems that allow an organisation to communicate and access information. They include hosted voice, Teams Phone, unified communications, broadband, leased lines, managed Wi-Fi, mobiles, contact centres and resilient multi-site connections.

Why a joined-up approach matters

Reduce supplier gaps and give people a more consistent experience

Phone systems depend on connectivity. Teams Phone depends on Microsoft 365. Mobile devices need management and security. Planning them together creates clearer ownership when something goes wrong.

One accountable partner

A single team can coordinate voice, connectivity, mobiles and the wider IT environment.

Better customer contact

Call routing, queues, reporting and resilient connections help customers reach the right people.

Flexible working

Office, remote, mobile and multi-site teams can use consistent tools wherever they work.

Stronger continuity

Failover, cloud calling and planned resilience reduce dependence on a single device or connection.

Connectivity choices

Business broadband, leased lines, failover and multi-site networks compared

The right option depends on business impact, performance, availability, geography and budget rather than headline speed alone.

Service Best suited to What to consider
Business broadband General cloud access, communication and day-to-day connectivity for smaller sites. Available technology, upload performance, support and contention. Learn more →
Leased line Sites that need dedicated symmetrical bandwidth, consistency and stronger service commitments. Higher investment, survey, installation lead time and contract term. Learn more →
Internet failover Organisations that cannot stop when their primary connection fails. Diverse routes and providers, automatic failover, capacity and testing. Learn more →
Multi-site connectivity Businesses requiring secure, consistent access and central oversight across locations. Site requirements, SD-WAN, security, cloud access and ongoing management. Learn more →

Analogue to digital

Preparing services that still depend on legacy analogue lines

The move away from legacy analogue services affects more than desk phones. Organisations should identify every line and connected service before deciding what replacement technology is appropriate.

Services that may need reviewing

Telephone and fax lines
Alarm and monitoring lines
Lift emergency phones
Door-entry systems
Payment terminals
Remote operational equipment

Plan the change as a service migration

Stratiis can help inventory affected services, confirm available connectivity, coordinate suppliers, plan number moves and minimise disruption. Replacements should be selected around the function and resilience required—not simply because they use newer technology.

How we work

A five-stage communications and connectivity process

Good outcomes begin with how people and customers communicate, not a catalogue of products.

1

Understand

Map users, sites, customer journeys, existing contracts, numbers, applications and pain points.

2

Design

Choose appropriate voice, collaboration, mobile, connectivity, resilience and security options.

3

Plan

Coordinate suppliers, surveys, licensing, number porting, installation, testing and communications.

4

Migrate

Implement the solution carefully and give employees the guidance they need to adopt it.

5

Support

Monitor services, manage incidents and review performance as people, sites and needs change.

Pricing

How much do business communications and connectivity services cost?

Costs depend on the combination of users, numbers, sites, features, devices, bandwidth, resilience, installation and support. Reviewing the whole environment can also expose overlapping contracts or services the organisation no longer needs.

Frequently asked questions

Business communications and connectivity explained

What is Unified Communications?

Unified Communications combines services such as voice, video, messaging, meetings and presence into a more consistent set of applications and user experiences.

What is hosted voice?

Hosted Voice is a cloud-based business phone system. Users can typically make and receive calls through compatible desk phones, computers and mobile applications.

Is hosted voice the same as VoIP?

Hosted Voice uses VoIP technology to carry calls over data networks, but the term normally refers to the wider managed cloud phone service, features and support.

Can we keep our existing telephone numbers?

Existing numbers can often be transferred, subject to provider, number type and service availability. Porting should be checked and planned before contracts are cancelled.

What happens to cloud phones if the internet fails?

Calling may be affected, so resilience can include backup connectivity, automatic failover, mobile applications and pre-agreed call-diversion arrangements.

Can Microsoft Teams replace a business phone system?

It can for many organisations when Teams Phone licensing, external calling, number porting, devices, call flows, resilience and support are designed correctly.

Do we still need desk phones?

Not necessarily. Some users prefer headsets or mobile applications, while receptions, shared areas and specific roles may still benefit from suitable desk devices.

What is the difference between broadband and a leased line?

Business broadband commonly uses shared access technology. A leased line is a dedicated symmetrical service with stronger performance consistency and service commitments, usually at a higher cost.

Does every business need backup internet?

No. The decision should reflect the operational cost of an outage, available alternatives, required capacity and whether voice, payments or critical cloud services depend on the connection.

Can Stratiis manage business mobiles?

Yes. Stratiis can help review tariffs, devices, user requirements, support and how mobiles connect to Microsoft 365, calling and security arrangements.

Can you support several business locations?

Yes. Stratiis can coordinate connectivity, networking, Wi-Fi, voice and support across offices, branches, depots and operational sites.

How long does a communications migration take?

Timescales depend on surveys, circuit installation, number porting, licensing, equipment and supplier notice periods. A phased plan reduces avoidable disruption.
